X-Rays

An X-ray examination is simple, quick and readily available at all radiology facilities. Your doctor might refer you for an X-ray if it is believed that an image of a certain part of your body could help in finding the cause of your symptoms and helping treatment.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a scanning procedure that uses strong magnets and radiofrequency pulses to generate signals from the body. MRI might be the best way of showing certain problems, such as for a knee injury, the brain or spine.

Computed Tomography (CT)

Computed tomography (CT) is a way of using X-rays to take pictures or images in very fine slices through the part of the body that the doctor has asked to be investigated. It will often involve creating several sets of pictures taken in different directions and also some 3-dimensional (3D) pictures.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound examinations use high-frequency soundwaves to produce a picture of inside your body. An ultrasound could be requested for many reasons. You may be most familiar with its use in obstetrics (medical care during pregnancy and childbirth) but there are also many other reasons an ultrasound may be requested.

Bone Mineral Density BMD

Bone Mineral Density (BDM)

A dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry scan (DXA), or bone density scan, is a special type of X-ray that measures bone mineral density (BMD). It provides information about bone strength or fragility and the risk of fractures or broken bones. The higher the density, generally, the lower the risk of fracture.

Dental X-Ray (OPG)

An OPG is a panoramic or wide view x-ray of the lower face, which displays all the teeth of the upper and lower jaw on a single film. It demonstrates the number, position and growth of all the teeth, including those that have not yet surfaced or erupted.
